On June 21st , 2025, the Lions Club of Kasangati Greater paid a visit to Esseza Foundation in Magere, Wampewo Ward, as part of their installation ceremony for the new leadership team. The visit was a testament to the club’s commitment to serving the community.
Led by President-elect Patrick Muganga, the Lions team brought foodstuffs for the patients at the home for cancer care. They were warmly received by Mama Anne Turegye, the founder and director of Esseza Foundation, which has been providing psychosocial support to children and people with deformities since 2012.
A Message of Appreciation and Support

During the visit, President-elect Muganga expressed his admiration for Mama Turegye’s selfless work, saying, “We cannot do what you do, Mama. We bless God for you. We’ve chosen to give you support and pray that God continues to give you the grace to help people with cancer issues.” District Governor-elect Tush Naturinda also praised Mama Turegye’s dedication, inviting her to join their campaign to recruit new members and continue serving those in need.
A Gesture of Goodwill


The Lions Club donated foodstuffs, including rice, sugar, cooking oil, wheat flour, and soap, to Esseza Foundation. Mama Turegye expressed her gratitude, highlighting the foundation’s previous partnerships with the Lions Club, which have included providing surgical services to patients. She shared a heartwarming testimony of a lady who received surgical services and is now married with a child.
A Night of Celebration


The installation ceremony continued at Great Habib Gardens in Kazinga, where the outgoing team recognized members with outstanding performances. The night was filled with celebration, marked by the induction of a new powerful Lion, Ms. Florence Katushabe, the director of Cradle Land Schools. She had previously partnered with Kasangati Greater in an environment protection campaign and contributed 2 million Uganda shillings towards the fundraising for Service in the new lionistic year.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including the District Governor-elect from Uganda and the District Governor from Kenya, who added to the festive atmosphere. The Lions Club of Kasangati Greater celebrated its three years of existence, reaffirming its commitment to serving the community.
